Discover Tilikum Place Cafe

Tilikum Place Cafe, located at 407 Cedar St, Seattle, WA 98121, is one of those places that feels like a hidden gem, tucked away in the heart of the city. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by the warmth of cozy interiors and the inviting smell of freshly brewed coffee. The cafe’s unique charm lies in its casual, yet polished vibe, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed breakfast or lunch. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this cafe has earned a spot on the list of must-visit places in Seattle.

When you first walk through the door, you’ll notice the rustic yet modern aesthetic. The space is thoughtfully designed, with a mix of wooden tables, contemporary light fixtures, and colorful accents that give the cafe a lively yet intimate feel. It's the kind of place where you can sit down for a leisurely meal or grab a coffee to go. It’s no wonder the cafe has become a popular spot for both working professionals and families alike.

One of the highlights at Tilikum Place Cafe is its breakfast and brunch menu. You can always expect something deliciously comforting and satisfying. For example, their signature Dutch Baby pancake is a crowd favorite, and it’s easy to see why. This light and fluffy pancake comes out sizzling hot, topped with powdered sugar, fresh fruit, and syrup. It's a perfect balance of sweetness and fluffiness, making it a delightful way to start your day.

Beyond the Dutch Baby, their menu boasts a range of options, from savory dishes to lighter fare. The bacon and eggs, served with crispy hashbrowns and a side of toast, is another favorite. The eggs are cooked to perfection, and the bacon is crisp without being overly greasy. If you're in the mood for something a bit more indulgent, the cafe's breakfast burrito, packed with eggs, cheese, and chorizo, is sure to hit the spot. Pair it with one of their specialty coffee drinks for the perfect meal.

While the breakfast options are fantastic, Tilikum Place Cafe also does lunch exceptionally well. They offer a variety of sandwiches, salads, and soups, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The grilled cheese sandwich, made with a blend of gooey cheeses and served with a side of tomato soup, is an ultimate comfort food combo that never disappoints. For something lighter, the kale salad with roasted beets, goat cheese, and a tangy vinaigrette is both refreshing and filling.

For those who appreciate a good cup of coffee, Tilikum Place Cafe doesn’t disappoint. Their coffee is brewed to perfection, and they offer a wide range of espresso drinks, teas, and freshly squeezed juices. The baristas are skilled at making everything from a classic cappuccino to more adventurous lattes with seasonal flavors. Whether you’re in the mood for a pick-me-up or something to sip slowly while you read or chat with friends, you’ll find the perfect beverage here.

As for the service, it’s hard to find anything to complain about. The staff at Tilikum Place Cafe are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They make sure your experience is smooth and enjoyable, whether you're a regular or it's your first time visiting. It's clear they care about creating a welcoming atmosphere for their customers.

  • We were lucky to get a table on Sunday without a prior reservation. The food tasted good overall, though we had to wait quite a while for staff to take our order and for the food to arrive - around 20-30 minutes, which felt a bit long. Despite the wait, I was generally satisfied with this meal and service The food was delicious, but I'd recommend ordering savory dishes first before dessert. By the time we got to the sweet Dutch babies, they had gotten soggy and weren't as tasty as they could have been. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with good flavors, just be prepared for a bit of a wait and consider the timing of your dessert orders.

  • Came here for Sunday brunch with a group of four. We had a reservation (made in advance), which seems to be the only way to get in. The space is super cute and cozy inside, perfect for a relaxed weekend meal. We shared both the sweet and savory Dutch babies. It was my first time trying them. The sweet one (blueberry, lemon, ricotta) had great flavor, though the ricotta gave it a texture that wasn’t my fav. The savory one with chorizo, spinach, manchego, and potato was the standout for me. Really tasty and satisfying. I wish there were more Dutch baby flavors to try because those were the highlight. We also split the quiche and it was great. Light, flavorful, and well done. Service was friendly. Overall, a great brunch spot with good food and a charming atmosphere. Would happily come back.

  • Went there for the famous Dutch Babies and OMG perhaps one of the best things I've ever eaten. Very cute, bright, small space with great service and super helpful staff who helped me with a last moment reservation. Will make my official Sunday brunch spot!

  • Hidden gem! The food, the service, atmosphere. Everything about this place was incredible. They have a small menu but, a fantastic selection to choose from. However, they do not make substitutions on their Dutch Baby’s. You can take away but not add as we were told. I’m not sure about anything else. Was definitely worth the wait. We didn’t have a reservation but were still able to get a table in a reasonable time frame, about a 45 minute wait. Would suggest booking on OpenTable for reservations. You will not be disappointed!!

  • My favorite brunch spot in Seattle and sure is for others too because it’s hard to get a reservation and walk-in isn’t recommended. The savory dutch babies is the way to go and they have rotating flavors with whichever ingredient is in season so check out their weekly menu posted every Wednesday on their instagram.

  • One of my favorite brunches in Seattle! The Dutch babies are worth the wait. Highly recommend making a reservation very far in advance – it’s worth it to secure a spot! Friendly service, both food and drinks can be a little slow all around

  • The food here is exceptional. The dishes were beautiful, the flavors were punchy, and the ideas were creative. Everything down to the little cookies they serve with their espresso were done with care. Desserts weren’t too sweet. We will be back
